Although the veto had been introduced to maintain global balance, it has often stalled action in several cases, involving mass atrocities, aggression, and threatened international peace. Thus, raising concerns about accountability and the precedence of national interests over global responsibility. As part of the United Nations General Assembly, delegates should be able to answer key questions: like can global cooperation be strengthened without undermining major powers? Is meaningful reform achievable within the existing UN framework? And Should the use of veto be limited in humanitarian crises? This committee challenges delegates to rethink power, responsibility and the future of international decision-making.
